“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together…” – Hebrews 10:24-25
We’ve significant privileges with our new life in Christ. We’ve personal access to God through Christ and can approach Him without an elaborate system. We grow in faith, overcome doubts and questions, and deepen our relationship with Him. We enjoy each other. We worship together.
Everyone in Christ has full access to God, and we should encourage one another to grow closer to Him. We must stir up each other to love and good works, meet with each other and encourage one another in faith. Let us not meet only as a matter of convenience but as a matter of priority in our lives, encouraging one another.
We must think deeply about how to love God more, love each other better, and how we can encourage each other to do good deeds for God. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. It may not always be pleasant, but it is necessary. Your brother or sister is your responsibility. To neglect Christian meetings is to give up the encouragement and help of other Christians.
We gather together to share our faith and strengthen one another in the Lord. Building relationships takes effort and sacrifice.
We live in a self-centered culture; sadly, this has crept into our churches. God didn’t design us to be loners in our Christian walk according to Hebrews 10:24-25 but desires us to be in a place where love and good deeds can be lived out among family. Remember, the devil doesn’t want to see our churches thrive with loving relationships that are filled with godliness, grace, encouragement, and forgiveness. We must not let him. If you’re in Christ, then your brothers and sisters in the faith are your families. Build each other up.
Prayer
Thank You, Lord, for brothers and sisters that we can call family while having a good relationship with Jesus. Thank You for how they build us up and remind us of your goodness and faithfulness. Let us not disappoint them, in Jesus’s name. Amen.
